Getting started

Use the Start guide, and add or remove sample data

The first days with any new system tend to go on finding where to begin. In Naffes CRM, the Start guide orders your steps by the goal you picked and ticks each one off by itself once you have really done it, and sample records let you see full screens before your own data goes in.

What happens at first login

Naffes first asks for your goal, then takes you to the matching tool with a short spotlight tour on the real controls:

Start goals and where each one takes you
GoalWhere you start
Run my deals and pipelineDeals, creating your first deal
Answer my customers in one placeThe inbox
Serve my customers after the saleTickets
Automate follow-up and remindersWorkflows

If you are the workspace admin, a setup flow follows to connect a Google or Microsoft mailbox and describe your business, with an optional AI rewrite of the description.

Use the Start guide

  1. Open the guide

Click Start among the pinned items in the sidebar, or go straight to /start. The Start guide shows your progress, such as “2 of 6 done”.

  2. Do the next step

Under Next up you see the suggested step and why it matters, with a Start now button that opens the right screen. Examples include creating your first deal, inviting a teammate and connecting your mailbox.

  3. Let steps tick themselves off

There is nothing to tick by hand: a step is marked done as soon as the real thing exists in the workspace, and it moves to Behind you.

  4. Add sample records (admins)

On the Sample records to look at card, click Add sample records. Two companies, three contacts and two deals are added, each marked “(sample)” in its name.

  5. Remove them when done

Click Remove sample records to delete them all in one go; none of your real records are touched.

Tips for week one

  • Use sample records to try what you would rather not try on real data, like dragging a deal between stages or marking it won, then remove them before inviting the team so they never reach your numbers.
  • The home dashboard shows open pipeline, deals won this month, win rate and at-risk deals, so it is the quickest place to see the effect of what you entered.
  • If you get lost, the sidebar pins Dashboard, Start, Inbox and Calendar, and the other screens are grouped under Sales, Activities, Service, Marketing and Insights.

A good next step after the guide: set up your pipeline and stages to match how you sell. For dashboards, see the dashboard feature page.

Questions

Questions 3

Why can't I see the button to add sample records?

Adding and removing sample records is for workspace admins only. Ask your admin if you need them.

Can I get back to the guide later?

Yes. Start stays in the sidebar while any step is still open and leaves it once every step is done, but the page itself remains available at /start to review what you finished.

I picked the wrong goal at the start. Can I change it?

Yes. The top of the Start guide shows “Your first goal” with a Change it link, and the Quick tour button replays the spotlight tour whenever you like.
