Collect invoice payments online with Tap in Naffes CRM

Naffes CRM connects your invoices to your company's own Tap Payments account: the customer clicks Pay now on the invoice page, pays on Tap's page, the money settles in your account and the payment is recorded on the invoice with no manual entry.

The collection problem it solves

Issuing an invoice is rarely the hard part. The friction comes after: chasing, waiting for a bank transfer, then matching a statement line to an invoice by hand. With Tap, payment becomes part of the invoice itself, and the balance updates the moment a charge succeeds.

  • Invoices go out from Naffes with your brand's logo and details, each with a public page and a PDF.
  • The public page shows a Pay now button while a balance is due.
  • The customer pays on Tap's hosted page and returns to the invoice page to see the result.
  • The payment posts to the invoice exactly once, never above the balance due, with a printable receipt that spells out the amount in words.
  • The Invoice paid in full and Payment received triggers can start workflows, for example a delivery task for your team the moment the money lands.
Note

This is not the Tap account Naffes uses to bill your subscription. Here you connect your own merchant account, so the money goes to you and never through Naffes.

Turning it on

  1. Get your secret key from Tap

Copy the secret key from your Tap dashboard. Test keys start with sk_test_ and live keys with sk_live_. A public pk_ key cannot charge.

  2. Open invoicing settings

In Naffes, go to Settings > Records & Fields > Modules > Invoices. Fill in the seller name, VAT number, CR number and payment terms if you have not already.

  3. Paste the key and enable payments

In the Online payment of invoices section, paste the key into Your Tap secret key, switch the option on and save. The key is stored encrypted and is never shown again. The online invoice payment guide covers the same steps in more detail.

  4. Issue an invoice

Create an invoice under Invoices, or open the draft created automatically when a customer accepts a quote, and click Issue invoice to email it.

  5. Run a test payment

With the test key, open the public invoice link, click Pay now, complete the payment on Tap's page, and check the payment is recorded before switching to the live key.

Naffes asks Tap to show every payment method enabled on your account, so what the customer sees depends on your Tap setup. Tap's documentation lists mada among the methods that work through its hosted payment page.

Limits

  • You need your own Tap account. An active Tap merchant account and its secret key are required.
  • Not every invoice shows the button. Drafts, voided, fully paid and credited invoices do not offer Pay now.
  • Online payment covers the full remaining balance. Customers cannot choose a partial amount online; record partial bank transfers with Record payment.
  • One currency. A workspace runs in a single currency, and each invoice is charged in it.
  • No automatic customer reminders. Overdue invoices are flagged daily and their owner is notified in Naffes, but no reminder goes to the customer unless you build one on the Invoice fell overdue trigger.

Questions

Questions 4

Does my customers' money pass through Naffes?

No. Charges are made with your own Tap key, so funds settle in your Tap account. Naffes only records the result on the invoice.

The customer paid half by bank transfer. How do they pay the rest?

Record the transfer with Record payment. The balance drops, and Pay now then charges only the remainder.

What if the payment result arrives twice?

It is posted once. Naffes uses the Tap charge ID as a unique key and never posts more than the balance due.

Can we try it without charging real money?

Yes. Use a key that starts with sk_test_, then switch to the live key once the whole flow works.
