Sales team management: ownership and handoffs
Assign responsibility before targets
Define who reviews new enquiries, owns opportunities and covers absence. Representatives should understand the difference between shared queues and assigned work. Unowned records need an explicit queue review rather than becoming invisible.
Specify the minimum context for a handoff: the request, latest commitment and next action. More notifications cannot compensate for missing context, and a daily meeting cannot resolve unclear ownership if it ends without recorded decisions.
Connect discussion to records
When discussing a deal, link its record rather than copying details into several conversations. Capture the final decision where the next person working on it will look. Temporary chat messages alone are not reliable documentation for long-lived commitments.
Naffes Majlis can bring team discussion around records and tasks. Define when a message is enough and when an issue needs a call or task. An internal channel does not mean every colleague should join every conversation; select participants by responsibility.
Coach through real work
Review a sample of each representative’s work: can a colleague understand the deal unaided, and are timing and next action clear? Use this to find training gaps or confusing fields. Separate diagnosis from target pressure so people do not hide problems.
Assess workload by complexity as well as record count. A coordinated enterprise deal may take more effort than several straightforward requests. Adjust allocation and coverage using record evidence and handoff outcomes.
