Send a WhatsApp broadcast campaign from Naffes CRM
A WhatsApp campaign in Naffes CRM sends an approved template to an audience you build from contact filters, with one or more message variants, and tracks the send status of every recipient. Because most recipients are outside the 24-hour window, every campaign message is an approved template.
What you need first
- A WhatsApp number registered and able to send in the workspace.
- At least one approved template imported under WhatsApp Templates, ideally in the marketing category if the content is promotional.
- Contacts with valid mobile numbers.
Send the campaign
Create the campaign
Under Marketing in the sidebar, open Campaigns and click New campaign. Give it a name that states the goal, such as “Ramadan hours reminder for existing customers”, and pick WhatsApp as the channel.
Choose the audience
In the Audience section, pick a saved audience, or click New audience and build one with filters: have a mobile number, lifecycle stage, country, owner, source, tags, companies, deal status and never contacted. An approximate contact count shows before you save, and the filters are re-applied at send time, so contacts who match after you save are included.
Add the message variant
Click Add message variant, choose the approved template, fill in every variable and check the preview. To test two wordings, add a second variant with another template.
Mark ready and send
Click Mark ready, then Send now. The campaign starts sending and its counters refresh while it runs.
Follow the results
Open the campaign: its Messages list shows every recipient and their send status, and the counters at the top sum up what went out. If many sends fail, check the audience's mobile numbers and Meta's marketing cap described below.
What to expect
- Variant split: with several variants, the audience is split evenly between them; weights cannot be set from the screen today.
- Scheduling: the screen offers Send now only; there is no field to schedule a later send in the UI.
- Automatic exclusions: contacts whose conversation your team has blocked, and anyone on the unsubscribe list, are skipped, and nobody receives the same campaign twice.
- No SMS broadcasts: an SMS-channel campaign does not actually send text messages, so use WhatsApp or email.
Meta caps how many marketing messages one person receives and can drop them when engagement is low (error 63049). A smaller, relevant audience beats a wide blast to a cold list.
When a recipient replies, their 24-hour window opens and the conversation lands in the inbox, where a rep can carry on with free-form messages. For the wider picture across email and WhatsApp, see campaigns.
Questions
Questions 2
Can a campaign send free text instead of a template?
No. Every variant in a WhatsApp campaign must be built on an approved template, since most recipients are outside their 24-hour window, where WhatsApp accepts nothing else.
What do the messages cost?
Meta charges a template message when it is delivered, at a rate set by the template's category and the recipient's country calling code, and sending goes through your company's own Twilio account. Check the official WhatsApp Business Platform pricing page and your Twilio pricing before large sends.
