CRM integrations: data ownership and recovery

Assign a source of truth

Document where contacts are created, where email changes happen and who owns deal status. If two systems can edit the same field without a conflict rule, one may overwrite a valid change with an older value. Retain a stable external identifier instead of matching names alone.

Separate ongoing integration from a one-time migration. Migration needs reconciliation across the full dataset; integration needs change tracking and recovery. A button importing a limited batch does not establish complete database migration or automatic pagination.

Define the data contract and retries

For each request, specify required fields, empty-value semantics, timezone and monetary units. Test Arabic text, a midnight timestamp and multiple phone numbers. Ensure identifiers do not lose leading zeros through numeric conversion.

A repeated event must not accidentally create another task or invoice. Use an event or operation identifier and record receipt separately from execution. Make failures recoverable from a known point, with bounded attempts and an owner for stalled cases.

Test the entire cycle

Use test accounts and non-sensitive records. Create and update an item, repeat the event, interrupt connectivity and test deletion when supported. Compare both systems rather than relying solely on a successful HTTP response.

Naffes integration pages describe each connector’s scope and limitations. Use the permissions needed for the task, keep credentials server-side and define rotation and shutdown procedures. After launch, monitor reconciliation gaps and synchronization delay as well as successful request counts.
